The museum was inaugurated in 1994 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the great scientist Hermann Oberth, pioneer of interplanetary flight and missile technology. The museum is divided into three modules exhibition dedicated to Conrad Haas, inventor of the first stage fuel missile, Hermann Oberth, father of space flight and Dumitru Dorin Prunariu first Romanian cosmonaut. The museum contains a series of themed exhibits such as trening of cosmonauts suit, models of the Buran space shuttle, rocket V2 or Saturn V.
