Collection(s)The collections were previously kept in the Precista church (dating form the middle of the 17th century) and opened to the public in 1918 due to the support of Bishop Nifon. Since 1996, the Diocese of the Lower Danube and the Museum of Visual Art presented in the former building of the Diocesan Palace the most representative pieces belonging to the religious cultural heritage of the area. Since 2002 the building was restituted to the Archbishopric of the Lower Danube, restored with European funds and reopened as museum. The collections include rare icons, books, religious items, paintings and photos.
