The museum has the name of Tarisznyás Márton (1927-1980), passionate curator, historian and ethnographer, founder and museum director for many years. The museum is opened in a Baroque building, monument of architecture, built in 1787. The collections include history, ethnography, fine art, natural sciences: mineralogy and zoology items. The permanent exhibitions are: Minerals, rocks and mine flowers; Folk costumes from Gheorghieni; Rare books and relics of the Armenian community; The paintings of Karácsony János. In the courtyard of the museum there is a traditional textile workshop.
