The inauguration of the "Ady Endre" Memorial Museum took place on May 26, 1955. In its organization, Oradean writer Tabéry Géza, one of Ady's former friends, played an important role. The museum is housed in the building of the former "Müller" cafe, particularly popular in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The original construction, completed in 1869 in the square in front of the Bihor Prefecture headquarters, acquired its current form during the reconstruction in 1895. This charming local with a terrace was a favorite place of the young Hungarian poet Ady, not only to spend, according to the customs of the time, but also to work. According to traditi...on, in the summer season, in the right corner of the terrace was his table, where he wrote many of his reports and articles. In the current exhibition, inaugurated in 2003, the focus falls on the presentation of Ady's life and activity in Oradea, recreating, in the two side rooms, the atmosphere of the newsrooms and cafes of those times. The bilingual exhibition (Romanian and Hungarian) consists of three rooms. The large room, in the middle, presents the events in Oradea that were decisive for the poet's future. On the left wall at the entrance, the establishment, history and representatives of the A Holnap Literary Society are presented, and on the right wall we can take a look at the love story between Ady and Léda, a love that completely changed the poet's destiny. A shorter theme is Ady's relationship with the visual arts, and finally, on the last wall, the one on the right at the entrance, this part is concluded with a short biography of the poet. In the smaller room, on the left, the atmosphere of a newsroom is reconstructed with the help of enlarged pages and articles from the newspapers of the time. On display here is a desk, where, according to legend, Ady worked when he wrote for Nagyváradi Napló, and a vintage wall telephone (reconstruction) from the beginning of the 20th century, which can be used to listen to recordings made with Ady's friends. In the other smaller room, a vintage cafe is set up with round tables, chairs, mirrors, etc.
