The Baroque building from 1887 was designed by Italian architects, after a French project to be the residence of the Dorohoi County Prefecture. The exhibits include insects, mollusks, minerals, birds, a.s.o. The entomological collection of Professor Ion Nemeş includes about 250,000 local insects (many new scientific species) and 4,500 exotic butterflies exchanged with various collectors from all over the world. The exotic animals collection of Professor Rang Cătălin and Pisică Donosie includes birds, crustaceans, snakes, a.s.o. collected from the Zair, in Africa.
