Ion Vodă's bronze bust by Marius Butunoiu was raised on the 20th of April 1957 upon the 400 year anniversary of the battles waged on these places. The monument is a homage that the Romanians pay to the Prince of Moldavia, who in 1574 won a brilliant victory over the Ottoman army.
