The Museum of Communism in Hunedoara has officially reopened its doors in its new location. A house with a history closely linked to the Golden Age period, with a much more generous space, where the impressive collections belonging to Hunedoara resident Romică Bîrsan are exhibited. This is the place where nostalgia and curiosity are perfectly intertwined. Here, each thing has its fascinating story, being a real history lesson for young people, and for those who lived in those times, before 1990, this place represents a return to time. From classrooms, with students, dressed in the uniforms of those times, teachers, and textbooks from that time, to impressive collections of LEGO, B...arbie dolls, badges, cars from that era, in miniature, to collections of money, from all over the world, badges, but also military uniforms and a multitude of objects that remind us of those times. Visitors are also invited to the “living room”. Here, there are a lot of things that most Romanians had in their homes. Pieces of furniture, even the TV on which a macrame mileu with a glass fish was placed. In another room there is a small bar, some shelves from the old store and the anteroom of a medical dispensary. If you are curious about what toys your parents played with during the Golden Age, or what phones they used, what textbooks they studied from at school and a multitude of other things specific to this period, then visit this museum!
