The listed building dates from the mid 15th century, being originally built in the Gothic style. The Franciscans of Mediaş were housed here. After 1948, it was used as a boarding-school, and later, since 1970 it has been a museum. The museum holds archaeology, history, ethnography, art and natural sciences departments presenting pottery of the Coţofeni, Noua; three Dacian treasures; tin and clay guild vessels, costumes specific of the Târnave area, pottery of Saschiz; geographical, geological and weather images, fauna and flora.
