The first ethnographic collection (about 1000 items) dates from 1960, having been established at Durău, following the researches of the Romanian Academy. Currently the exhibits include ethnography and folk art items (textiles, pottery, furniture) illustrating trades, customs, costumes, traditional wooden architecture from the Neamţ area.
